The Artist Known As Drew Battin
Jack of All Trades, Master of Some.
In the time I’ve been chronically online and bored to tears, I’ve picked up more than a few skills.
Music, Art, and Writing are only some of the weapons in my arsenal - There’s also Coding, 3D Modeling, and how to make a KILLER Chicken Cordon-Bleu. Along with troubleshooting skills for almost any software or hardware out there, you’d think that employment would have come to me like water to a fish, but it hasn’t been the case (so far).
I do all that I do in hopes that I can build a better future for myself, develop a network of friends and employers, and secure a good life for not only myself, but the wonderful men I have become partners with.
To me, “SKAROT” used to mean “Emotionally Touching with Predjudice”; To do as much good as I can to spite the past that I’ve lived. Over the years, that has changed. Now, “SKAROT” is a tombstone to an aspect of myself that has been laid to rest. The anger and fear I once held in a life where I was helpless to change any of it for the better.
I got my revenge on life and was left wanting, so I’ve moved on to a healthier mindset:
“Creating works of art, music, and otherwise - passion filled things - for others to see and connect to. Unique items that can improve and change the lives of others, despite their initial appearance or visual content.
No matter what I make, there’s a deeper reason. A meaning behind the ‘jumpscare’ of its facade.
The choice to decide if you wish to see the Truth, or something Horrifying.”
I take this idea and explore themes of horror or uncouth subject matters to pull out a relatability that others may identify with; monsters that display how human we really are, in ways curated to reflect trauma, abuse, and other situations that are not dealt with by the majority.
It is, of course, an acquired taste.
So acquire some taste.
